Our Story...

“I want to thank my husband, Garney Edmonds, whose dream was to own a “hardwood bush”. As a result this is what we created: A Labour of Love.”

– Nancy Edmonds, Owner/Operator

Cabins in the Maples was founded in 2011. It includes many outbuildings filled with gorgeous and rare antiques, as well as refurbished and recycled items. It’s beautiful rural setting makes it a pleasure to browse around. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and refreshing. Each season brings a different look to Cabins in the Maples: whether it is the fresh spring look, the blooming flowers in the summer, or the array of red and orange maple leaves during the fall.
Cabins in the Maples is located a few minutes off of Highway 17 in Rutherglen. All you have to do is follow the “Antiques / Collectibles / Repurposed” signs located every few kilometers. Cabins in the Maples also purchases used furniture to recyle and resell. Hours of Operation are listed on the Contact page, although if you’d like to visit after hours, or are just passing through on your day off, feel free to call Nancy at 705-303-7421 or email her rhodaedmonds@gmail.com and she will gladly open her doors to welcome you.

I was born and raised here in the Rutherglen area. I lived with my husband Garney in Sudbury where we raised a family. And after 45 years I have been able to return home to Rutherglen to retire. Retirement has given me a new chapter in life which brought me to start Cabins in the Maples. I have a love and passion for antiques and collectibles. And what a great opportunity to meet new people.

As I walk around my property I realize how blessed I truly am. Walking the trails through the maples, sitting outside having coffee with a friend or even mowing the lawn makes my day.

My life is filled with time spent with family, children, grandchildren, friends. My life is very much about community and its people. I love music and attend many music venues.

Life here in Rutherglen at Cabins in the Maples is excellent. I see good in life’s situations and like to share that with others.

Please come visit Cabins in the Maples and take a leisurely stroll among the maples to the many cabins filled with treasures.
